Our Journey

Our Journey

LVA began around a kitchen table when friends Kayleigh and Sue, both mothers and experienced RSHE educators, saw a growing need for high‑quality RSHE provision in Richmond. A simple “what if…?” conversation soon turned into action.

LVA became a registered charity on 6 October 2016, launching with a small team, a board of trustees, and two partner schools. In our first year, we grew from supporting 2 schools to 6.

What started as a shared conviction has become a thriving organisation equipping young people with the knowledge and confidence they need.

We are currently delivering RSHE, Small groups, 1:1 mentoring, and parent village programmes across Greater London. Recognising the need for more tailored support, we established small groups focusing on topics such as CSE, toxic masculinity, self-harm, self-esteem, and emotional well-being.

There's also high demand for one-to-one mentoring for vulnerable students, and we are responding by creating safe spaces for them to be heard, feel supported and build resilience.

Our parent village events and courses are now a core part of LVA’s mission. We organise parent events to empower families navigating teenage challenges, run courses to equip, engage and empower, and fundraising events that foster community connections, and raise funds for this vital work.

Mission & Vision

Mission & Vision

LVA exists to promote the emotional, relational, mental and physical well-being of young people and those who care for them through the provision of relationship, sex and health education using our loved (self-awareness), valued (relational awareness) and able (ability awareness) framework.

Our vision is for every young person to grow up deeply knowing they are loved, valued, and full of potential. We imagine a future where they feel confident, empowered, and equipped to make choices that honour their relationships, health, and wellbeing.

We believe every young person deserves a community that stands with them, protects them, and champions their growth. So that society’s future adults create a world, where together, we can thrive in our relationships, with ourselves, with each other, and with our environment.

Our mission is to deliver inclusive, engaging, and age-appropriate RSHE alongside mentoring and small group work that meets young people where they are but values them too much to leave them there.

We partner with schools, parents, and communities to offer assemblies, workshops, one-to-one support, and Parent Village sessions, all designed to help young people navigate relationships, emotions, and life choices with confidence.

Everything we do is rooted in our commitment to see young people and those who care for them engaged, equipped, and empowered.
