What We Offer - Community

RSE isn’t just for the classroom! We support and equip communities to engage with young people in every area of society. Through youth-led fundraising events, setting up youth spaces in underrepresented areas; empowering young people to build communities of their own and for the generation after them.

We can never emphasise enough the importance of parents getting to grips with ll things RSHE. so we have developed our Village Program which allows parents and carers to do just that. We also run community parenting events and support faith communities through talks and training.

Community Youth Work

Our community youth work engagement is the bridge between school and the community. Part of our vison at LVA has always been to link what we do with young people in school to how they can be supported beyond the gates. We are passionate about bringing young people into, and being part of, community through local projects. We do this in a variety of ways but the two main areas we focus on are:

Partnering with local youth groups to deliver one off workshops and small groups in existing youth clubs. LVA being present in local youth clubs gives young people the opportunity to see us in their territory. The hope is that when they have had our RSE in schools they will know exactly what we are about and therefore would have built some trust with us - as such, young people will feel more able to interact and connect with us.

LVA led youth spaces are part of a project that aims to bring young people into community, The space will provide a variety of sport-based disciplines alongside LVA's personal growth program; 'loved' based around self-esteem building and body positivity, 'valued' developing healthy relationships & 'able' all about wellbeing and resilience building. This includes, but is not limited to, young people who may be vulnerable to a variety of challenges that mean they need a safe space to nurture their time through adolescence in the context of community.  our provision is available for young people aged 10 onwards. If you wish to find out more about our current provison please use the most relevent button below. if you are interested in joining our community team or wish to find out how to start one of our spaces in your area please contact us HERE

Our Youth Partners.

StreetGames has provided us with the necessary support to establish our first community girls' group in the heart of an estate located in Hounslow. They have assisted us in integrating a doorstep sports-based program into our LVA personal and relational development initiative.

As proud members of the London youth community, we are grateful for their exceptional training programs and youth work networks. These resources greatly enhance our services, enabling us to deliver with excellence.

Equipping Faith Communities

We engage with Churches and other faith groups to empower and equip people to step out in confidence and love young people into community. We do this in two ways; talks that are aimed at the adult members of church and other faith groups, and talks/workshops that are aimed at youth. It’s so important for the youth of faith communities to know that they are free to discuss and grapple with their social and cultural settings in their places of worship and their faith communities. We also deliver training to faith groups to reach out to young people in the communities they are a part of, as well as equipping them to run LVA@ youth spaces in their buildings for young people in their communities who are vulnerable to a variety of challenges.

The Village Program

Community Parent Engagement

Our community parent engagement works on two fronts. First, it’s our Village program, a six-week RSHE crash course for parents and carers to safely work through our six core RSHE themes. Secondly, we have our annual parent events that are delivered in the community and have a focus on equipping parents and carers in relevant social and cultural challenges their children face on and offline. Parent and carer engagement play a key role in supporting our young people through their formative years. When parents and carers are equipped, empowered and engaged with their young people it benefits everyone from the youngest to the oldest in society.
