Therapeutic & Reactive Mentoring

We provide expert‑led mentoring that helps young people build resilience, strengthen emotional well-being, and feel empowered to navigate life’s challenges.

Whether through structured therapeutic mentoring or responsive support during safeguarding incidents, our work ensures every young person feels loved, valued and able, exactly when they need it most.

Therapeutic Mentoring Programme

Empowering young people to thrive through relational, reflective and emotionally‑intelligent mentoring. We use skills-based activities over 12-20 weeks to build resilience that lasts.

Our Therapeutic Mentoring Programme helps young people:

  • Build strong emotional literacy and understand their inner world

  • Develop practical wellbeing tools (Life Kit, D.O.S.E., coping strategies)

  • Strengthen self-worth, identity, boundaries and decision-making

  • Process emotions safely with trained mentors who model empathy and curiosity

  • Learn how to regulate, reflect, communicate and grow

  • Track their progress through a structured beginning–middle–end journey

  • Feel supported, understood and empowered to navigate challenges

Our programme is evidence-based and outcomes-focused.

At the end of each journey, the mentee will have:

  • Enhanced self-esteem, with mentoring programmes demonstrating medium positive effects on confidence and self-worth.

  • Strengthened emotional literacy, awareness and regulation, supported by mentoring frameworks that promote emotional insight, empathy and emotional control

  • Reduced externalising behaviours, including impulsivity and reactive responses, through structured therapeutic support

  • Increased resilience and coping skills, with mentoring shown to strengthen protective factors such as self-efficacy, emotional coping and adaptive behaviour.

  • Improved social skills and relationship building, with mentoring linked to growth in empathy, communication and interpersonal functioning.

  • Improved school engagement and readiness to learn, through improvements in emotional functioning and reduced internalising symptoms

At the end of each journey a thorough report is written and submitted to the SLT with evidenced improvement scores, and qualitative feedback from the mentee plus mentor insight into how to support the student post journey
